Mac and iPad app
Midi Jazz Lab works without an account, advertising, tracking, or analytics. MIDI messages, exercises, dictionaries, and preferences are processed locally; the app does not send them to Jaramillo Music Lab. This policy covers the installed app. Website accounts and purchases are covered by the website’s general terms.
Files and instruments
The app accesses files you choose to import or export. It can exchange MIDI messages with devices and apps connected by cable, Bluetooth, or network sessions configured in the operating system. The MIDI panel shows the selected inputs and outputs.
Updates and web connections
The App Store edition uses Apple’s update service. The edition distributed directly from our website can check for updates at launch if you enable that option. Update checks and visits to support links send the hosting service the usual technical request data, including your IP address. They do not send your music, library, or dictionary. Emails you voluntarily send to support are used to respond to your request.
Retention and deletion
You can remove imported exercises and custom chords in the app. On iPad, Delete App removes its local container; offloading the app while keeping its documents does not. On Mac, moving only the app to the Trash may leave its container and files from earlier versions in your home folder. Exported files and backups are managed separately. Contact support if you need help locating or deleting local data. The app does not keep a copy of your library on our servers.
Students
The app does not request students’ identity, location, contact details, or educational records. No account is required to practice.
